In 2011, we moved to Thailand to “live by the sea for six months.”
I wouldn’t say it had a major impact on my work — there is no distinct “Thai period” in my art. However, I did some sketches of daily life and captured the quirks of the Thai language.
I enjoyed learning the language and even agreed to create a Russian-Thai phrasebook, which turned out to be a rather negative experience.
Unfortunately, I didn’t do many sketches. Perhaps I lacked the time, or perhaps I fell into the trap of thinking I had plenty of it ahead of me.
